Tampa Cruises Travel Tips

  • Wear layers, especially if you are visiting during the offseason. During this time, it can cool off a bit once the sun goes down!
  • When you go swimming, make sure you swim in an area marked as "safe to swim." There are gators in Tampa, so you just want to be careful.
  • Bring and wear sunscreen every day! The sun can be fierce and might feel good on your skin, but you'll want to wear sunscreen because it's incredibly easy to get burnt.
  • Make sure you wear comfortable shoes because a lot of downtown Tampa is pretty walkable. You may need to utilize public transportation or rent a car if you plan on going to destinations slightly outside of city limits.
  • If you want to try to save money, consider purchasing a Tampa City Pass. This will provide you with discounted admission to many of the top sights throughout the city.

Tampa Cruise Packages

Quick Facts

There truly is no best time to visit Tampa! It's gorgeous weather year-round, so no matter when your cruise is set to take sail, you'll be blessed with sunny days. However, some parts of the year will be drastically less-busy than at other times.

  • Spring and Fall - October to November and March to April - Shoulder Season

During the spring months, the weather averages around 76°F, and in the fall it averages closer to 83°F. These months, the weather is nice, and not many people visit, which classifies it as Tampa's shoulder season. Prices aren't sky-high during these months too.

  • Summer - May to September - Low Season

The summer months have high temperatures around 88°F, so it's the year's warmest time. Because of that, not a lot of people visit. However, keep in mind that this is also the year's rainiest time because it's coming up on Florida's hurricane season.

  • Winter - December to February - High Season

The high season in Tampa is the winter because so many people leave the colder states to escape to the warmth! Temperatures average around 72°F, so it's still decently warm. However, since so many people visit during these months, the accommodation prices go up.
