  The Bermuda Railway Trail is an 18-mile trail that can be walked, hiked, or biked. It's one of the most scenic routes in all of Bermuda and offers sweeping views of the coastline, which are even more beautiful at sunrise or sunset. The trail dates back to 1931 when it was initially part of Bermuda's train system. This was the primary way to get around the island but was later turned into a trail in 1964. It soon became one of the most popular spots on the island among both tourists and locals!

  There are nine different train sections, with each chunk varying between one mile to almost four miles. You can visit any part that you'd like!

  Explore the Crystal and Fantasy Caves

  The Crystal and Fantasy Caves are 62 meters deep and are genuinely some of the must-visit places in Bermuda. Keep in mind that the only way to visit the inside of each of these caves is by guided tours, which can be booked ahead of time or once you get to Bermuda. Each tour will bring you inside either Fantasy Cave or Crystal Cave and give you the cave's history. Tons of stalactites cover the ceiling and only add to the overall atmosphere of each cave!

  Try delicious food at the Swizzle Inn

  The Swizzle Inn is a popular pub and restaurant in Hamilton, Bermuda, dating back to the early 20th century. They are the "home of the Rum Swizzle," Bermuda's national drink must be tried at least once during your visit! They serve everything from Conch Fritters to Luau Shrimp. They also do smaller starters if you're not feeling that hungry. The menu varies drastically in price, but there is a wide variety of menu items, so no matter what your diet is, you'll be able to find something to suit your needs on the menu.

  Relax at Horseshoe Bay

  The Horseshoe Bay is a beautiful beach on the south coast of Bermuda in Southampton. It's filled with pink sand, breathtaking cliffs, and shaped like a horseshoe, which is why it got its name. Horseshoe Bay is the perfect place to come and relax for the day, or even participate in outdoor sports. Some of the most popular things to do at Horseshoe Bay include swimming, scuba diving, diving, snorkeling, water skiing, and even jet skiing. There are fantastic coral reefs here that you honestly won't want to miss.

  You can quickly get to Horseshoe Bay by utilizing public transportation. Just hop on the #7 bus in Hamilton. If you need any water sports equipment or even a beach towel, they can be rented right at Horseshoe Bay!

  Visit Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse

  Gibb's Hill Lighthouse opened in 1844 and is one of the very first lighthouses of its kind to be built. It's made from cast-iron, which was seen as impossible at the time that it was created because you couldn't bend steel. It stands at 117 feet tall. To get one of the best views that you can get in Bermuda, climb up the spiral staircase. There are 185 steps in total, and you only have to pay a small fee to get to the top. From the top, you can see Little Sound and South Shore. Afterward, be sure to spend some time exploring the rest of the City of Hamilton.

  If you'd like to avoid the crowds, then try to visit right in the morning when it opens. Keep in mind that there are shortened hours on Sundays.

  Walk along Front Street in Hamilton

  Front Street is one of the most picturesque parts of Bermuda! The street is lined with bright-colored buildings that are perfect for any photo backdrop. Along the road, you can find everything from great restaurants and cafes to souvenirs and luxury shops. If you're lucky enough to be visiting Front Street during the week, be sure to stop by on Wednesday to visit the Harbour Nights festival. During this festival, you can see fun dancing, activities, and even pop-up vendors selling unique items! What makes it even better is that the street is located right on the water.

  The street is extremely walkable. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes!

  Learn history at the National Museum of Bermuda

  The National Museum of Bermuda opened in 1974 and showcases exhibits on the history of the island. It's one of the best educational museums to visit in Bermuda if you want to know more about the island in general, especially it's maritime history. The museum is filled with history dating back to more than 500 years ago. There are also a few fortresses that the museum covers, so you can check those out when you visit. Some of the most iconic places to explore here include The Keep and the Commissioner's House.

  You Should Know

  Anyone under the age of 16 can enter for free! The last entry to the museum is always 1 hour before closing.

  Check out Blue Hole Park

  In Bermuda, the Blue Hole Park is a gorgeous area that is home to beautiful forests, caves, and swimming spots. There are also some unmarked trails that are great fun to explore when visiting the park. The park is often also referred to as Tom Moore's Jungle. This is because Tom Moore, a poet from Ireland, actually did a lot of his writing while visiting here. The park covers 12 acres in total and is entirely free to visit.

  There is parking located close nearby if you bike here. Keep in mind that there aren't lifeguards for the swimming holes, so just use standard safety precautions.
