Tour Itinerary

On this splendid Central Europe tour, you’ll discover the former Habsburg Empire. Your tour starts and ends in Munich. Along the way, you’ll overnight in some of Central Europe's most exciting cities: Prague, Vienna, Budapest, and Salzburg. In Prague, Vienna, and Budapest, join your Local Guides—experts who will share with you the history and secrets in their cities—for sightseeing of the must-see sights. Among the sights you will see in Prague are Charles Bridge, dating to 1357 and one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe, and the Astronomical Clock, built in 1410 with a sinister medieval figure of death who emerges to pull the bell cord. In Budapest, see the Parliament building, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered one of the world’s most beautiful parliament buildings, and Fishermen’s Bastion, which overlooks the city. In Vienna, view the Hofburg, the palatial complex and the political focal point for the Hapsburgs. You’ll have time on your own in Vienna to sit in a café with a piece of scrumptious Sachertorte while listening to a legendary waltz, or explore the inside of St. Stephen’s Cathedral with its Romanesque and gothic architecture. In Nuremberg, wander through the charming, pedestrian Old Town with its impressive medieval ramparts. In Salzburg, you may want to walk through the quaint streets of the town center and maybe visit Mozart’s house, or just browse through the typical shops to taste some of the delicious chocolates. Vibrant cities and historic sights—along with some beautiful scenery of the Alps and the Danube River—make this a comprehensive tour through Central Europe for value-minded travel lovers.

A SAFE & WARM WELCOME

We will conduct tour check-in procedures and pre-trip health screenings to offer guests a safe start and peace of mind throughout the journey. This includes proof of vaccination for all guests. See our complete Health & Safety Pre-Trip Screening Instructions on our website for full details.

BLENDING CULTURAL PROXIMITY WITH SOCIAL DISTANCE

There may be times on tour or on the motorcoach when social distancing is required. We will take care in assuring any local guidelines are followed in a safe and comfortable way for our guests. For any cases where masks are required due to local guidelines, we ask that guests bring their own approved N95 (FFP2) masks for their own comfort and safety. Our wireless listening technology enables safe distances between our guests and other travelers during excursions.

FOCUS ON GUEST AND TEAM MEMBER HEALTH

To ensure a healthy environment for each of our guests and our team, our Tour Directors, Local Hosts, and motorcoach drivers are fully vaccinated, and we are also requiring that all travelers are fully vaccinated before joining our trips. Additionally, we will conduct regular guest checks, and, when required by local guidelines, masks will be worn by our guests and by our team when accompanying guests. In all other cases, masks are optional for guests.

TOUCHING HEARTS, NOT HANDS

Traveling with Cosmos removes many of the “touch points” of travel, including luggage handling, check in/out, expedited entry into attractions and more. Cosmos are further reducing risk with hands-free service, meaning all self-services replaced by staff, including buffet meals replaced with table service. Cosmos will also ensure hand sanitizing is available throughout each trip, on coach and in hotels.

COMMITMENT TO CLEAN

As a part of Cosmos' commitment to clean, Cosmos is requiring enhanced cleaning procedures with hotel partners, on motorcoaches, vehicles and throughout every trip, including additional daily disinfecting procedures that go above-and-beyond already strict health and safety procedures. And our motorcoaches are equipped with air filters that clean the air as well as provide constant ventilation.

PARTNERS IN DISCOVERY AND IN HEALTH

Cosmos has strict health and safety protocols, which have been in place for years, focused on ensuring all aspects of operation- from vehicles and equipment used on trip to excursions and hotel procedures. This process will continue with new, elevated health and safety checks, to maintain their promise that each touch-point on tours and cruises are considered in their commitment to guest and team member well-being.

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our tour! The tour guide was a wealth of interesting information on each country we visited and was always considerate of all passengers, The driver did a wonderful job of navigating through some difficult road conditions. We would highly recommend this tour

The experience with Affordabletours is amazing. It was more than it was as advertised. The guide is superb with her knowledge, courtesy and make the trip very interesting and valuable. The driver was so professional and very good that our trip was smooth and convenient. Next year, 2024 I look forward to book again with them and make referrals. Great company that you can trust.

It was beautiful trip as the weather was cooperating with us and had wonderful experience with city visits and sight seeing. Our tour director David and driver as well was very good and very professional and caring to everyone. Thank you.

I'm glad to have been booked on a Globus tour. There was 44 of us on the bus, yet Simone (our tour guide) somehow made each of us feel like VIPs. Most of the cities we visited were accompanied by local guides that would take us through the key areas and give us deep specifics about buildings, historic events, and so forth. As for me, I was too busy taking pictures and admiring the scenes to be listening to all the details. But it's your choice. Of all the excursions along the way, the one that absolutely must be done is the riverboat dinner in Budapest. That riverboat dinner was the highlight of my whole tour and there's just no way I would have been on it if not for being a part of a tour group.

I think that the travel time between 2 countries (Austria and Hungary) was too long, I think this trip's time in the bus traveling from one country to the other may need some thought about how to cut the time traveled, maybe re routing the whole trip. The hotel in Prague was very good, but "toooo" many people staying in the hotel, as it is too big, made the breakfast experience kind of hard. The food at dinner time was great! The hotel in Munich (the first one) was far from the city, maybe you should think about another hotel closer to the city that one can go walking for restaurants, etc. Also, the farewell dinner at that place in Munich, i personally did not like the selection of the food (pork knuckles). Both the driver and the tour guide were amazing. Tina, the tour guide gave us maps from all the cities that were helpful for those who decided to stay in the center and return to the hotels later on. The driver, Ady was very nice and professional.

The tour itinerary was as described, but the experience was mediocre. The tour director was very pleasant, but seemed to lack experience and the skills necessary to actually direct the tour. The orientation meeting was held in the bar/lobby area of the first hotel, so the group was very spread out and no attempt was made to introduce the travelers to each other. People were eating and drinking during the orientation, and the tour director was ineffective at getting everyone's attention, so people didnt know to arrive timely when scheduled to board the bus, people didn't know where the breakfast room was, etc. For the first "group" dinner, we were told it was a buffet, so come when you want; people sat at tables for 2 or 4 at whenever they chose to come to the buffet and didn't interact with others in the group. Towards the end of the tour, there was a dispute over the rotation plan on the bus and it got heated. We enjoyed the towns we visited, but this bus tour was not the way to go. Also, some of the hotels were poor. The last hotel didn't even provide tissues in the bathroom. The hotels were all a good distance from town, so, with 1 to 1 1/2 days in each city, we did not travel by ourselves from the hotel into the cities, which cut down on our effective use of time and cut down on our enjoyment. I think a river cruise would have been a better choice, as we spent a lot of time packing and unpacking. I will say that our bus driver was excellent and our tour director became more confident and in control towards the end of the trip.

The Medieval tour in Prague is not worth it and very dangerous, with the descent very steep with no hand rails.

It was Great, Worth of money you pay, staff is excellent, must go

Some hotels were unsatisfactory a/c didn't work no Porter service

We were completely satisfied with our communications with Marianne and the wonderful tour she arranged for us. What was wonderful was the added bonus of meeting so many wonderful companions along the way. Anita, our tour director and Georgio, our driver were A+++

We had a wonderful time. Our Tour Director, Alex, was wonderful. Very helpful and knowledgeable..

The tour offered us many things to see, but little time to explore much. The coach was nice, but you can't use the bathroom facility unless an emergency. But comfort stops were timely. All accommodations were very nice except the hotel in Vienna... the hallway walls were soiled and the carpet was old and stained... the room seemed clean enough but the air conditioning didn't work well and it wasn't comfortable to sleep. Breakfasts were good at all hotels.

Some of the hotels rooms were kinda tiny and far from city centers however they were clean and breakfast was very nice. Tours were awesome and tour director and driver were fantastic. Optional excursions were great.

The tour director was knowledgable and patient. The driver kept us safe. The hotels don't have A/C. We have to open the windows to make the room cooler. The hotels are far from the main attractions. They should provide the exact instructions on what bus no. to take going to destination and going back to hotel. In one of the hotels, I got scolded bu the waitress for putting water in my water bottle, just water in a small water bottle.

We had a great trip and beautiful countries we will always remember. We certainly enjoyed it very much!! We will use Affordable Tours next year too!! Thanks.

The hotel in Salzburg was not up to the standards of the others. It was definitely second class.

I have booked several tours with your company and have been very satisfied.

I found out that I'm too old for this type of travel. The room in Budapest just too small. For one night it would have been ok. The last day in Munich there was no porter for the luggage. Had to drag luggage thru the hotel.

Felt pressured to fill out form at end of tour & questioned as to why I check the answer i checked & the the mantory tipping of the tour director should have been included in the all inclusive tour thats is why I booked a tour?? The tip should have been at my own decision

Room for 3 was not commensurate to the hotel rate paid. Uncomfortable 'day beds' makes it difficult to sleep after a long day on tour.

Loved Sophia and the bus driver. They provided excellent service.

The trip was enjoyable. I actually enjoyed my previous 7 European country tour more, primarily because the destinations had more significant attractions. I had a problem with one room in Budapest (room 227) that was so small I could hardly walk around the bed. Had I been traveling with a companion, I would have definitely requested another room because 2 people couldn't even walk past each other, it was that small.

Money well spent. My family truly enjoyed the sights and culture.

Everything was set up accordingly from Touch down to departure. The hotel accommodation was great. The tour bus was clean and comfy.Th bus driver is excellent. You can sleep knowing you're in safe hands. The tour director is well versed and professional. will highly recommend

I would definatly book another trip in the near future with your company because I was very satisfied. I would highly recommend affordable Tours to all my friends and my family members because it met all my expectations. Thank you affordable tours for making this wonderful trip a great experience in my life.

but i would expect better accommodations next time.Receving at the airport could be better

Sunny, the Affordable Tours travel arrangement who organized my trip, was excellent. She knew so much and reassured me that I had all the documents I needed. She put me at ease. Our tour guide, Davor, was great, too. He speaks five languages fluently and knew everything there is to know about the places we visited.

Good. I am please with affordable tours.

Our tour director, Andrea, was the best. She was very helpful and kept us organized. She was very knowledgeable of the places we visited. And provided recommendations for restaurants and other places to see. However, our accommodations specially in Prague (International Hotel) was disappointing. The air conditioner did not work and the place was dirty (needs major renovation). Towels were old and frayed. Also, the room at Ibis Hotel in Munich was not ideal for a triple since the room was so small. My sister in law ended up getting a separate room for herself. As for the tour, the Budapest tour in the morning was too tight. We barely enjoyed the castle area. Also, an optional tour should have been offered to see more parts of the city or of the spas since the afternoon was open. I understand that this is a budget tour. I was not expecting first class amenities and services but the travel experience could have been better.

Yes, our tour director was amazing. Our Cosmos toour director, Atilla, was the best tour director I have ever had. He provided above and beyond service to the group.

Very fun trip. Option excursions were a lot of fun. I wouldn't chose the sound of music or castle tour. Ext time. I would rather do the castle tour on our own- that went a little fast and didn't have much time to explore on your own on the castle. Plenty of information was given about each place and lots of time to explore on our own and with the group.

The Europe trip is one of our best European trip that me and daughter went to. From the 1st day up to the last day of the tour it was great! I really recommend it to everybody! Me and my daughter really enjoyed our stay in central europe.

We really enjoyed the trip, We attended all the optional excursions and enjoyed each experience. The river cruise on the Danube was probably the highlight, but the cultural dinners in Prague and Budapest were a lot of fun also.

The trip was fair because we were asked to visit different attractions on our own. The tour director pointed out different attractions that we could visit and told us how to get to the site. Since I am a senior citizen, I found that to be unsettling. Since we arrived in Munich several hours before check-in time for the hotel, the tour director informed us that we could go to Marrienplatz for lunch and to visit. She informed us that we could take the bus and the train. However, she did not tell us how to purchase a ticket. I ended up purchasing two tickets because I did not know how the system worked. I am not familiar with public transportation. The same thing happened with the train. My companion and I had to ask citizens how to operate the machine which was frustrating. I have traveled with Cosmos once previously, and the trip was not like this one. However, I am not going to judge the company on the basis of this trip. I do hope in the future I will not be displeased.

the hotel at Budapest for 2 nights was very small and ac didnt work for 2 nights in every room. the excursion boat night at Budapest was terrible for 68 Euro per person. the other dinner was nice and wonderful at Prague.

Our tour was fantastic. This was our first escorted tour and it wound up exceeding our expectation. Our Tour director, Tunde was simply the best. Our bus driver Geogio was very professional. We will book again with Cosmos.

yes highly recommended, definitely I will book again on affordabletours.com on my future trip.

This was the first time with Cosmos tour that we had to deal with fellow travellers who were consistently late. This tour was too punishing for this elderly couple (gentleman is 82 years old). This tour has too much walking and not suitable for them. My recommendation is to encourage you to state that in the itinerary.

Everything went smoothly in our tour. The tour director and her co-workers (driver, tour guides) were very professional and helpful.

For the most part, schedules were well-kept. I feel that in Prague, for the area trying to be covered by the day tour guide, more time ought to be given in and around Old Town. On day 1, in Munich, more time ought to have been spent after dinner amongst tourists to mill around and get acquainted.

What a great value this trip was. We had a nice mix of participants and were quite an international group: U.S., Canada, South Africa, Australia, Pakistan, and more. My only negative is that the hotels were on the outskirts of each town, making walking to any attractions impossible.

This vacation was an unforgettable experience! Everything went smooth and was exactly as advertised. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The bus driver was one of the best drivers I have ever seen. We felt very safe with him. The dinners and entertainment were a lot of fun. Affordable Tours was very helpful getting us ready for the trip. We will recommend them to all our friends. We look forward to our next trip with Affordable Tours!

We had a terrific time on this tour! We did the Munich > Prague > Vienna > Budapest tour and we really enjoyed it. It was a bit rushed, but overall it was really great. Our main guid was excellent, very informative, fun, and funny, and our bus driver was awesome! We had a fantastic time! The tour ran smoothly, rooms were always ready and no problems with luggage etc.

The hotels are far from downtown. The local guides are good but needs improvement, especially the Prague local guide.

Name tags for everyone to get to know each other.

Very informative, educational, accomodating, friendly staff.

An experience that truly exceeded my expectations from a budget tour. Very well-organized and with a tour director who went the extra mile to make us feel like we're family, and with an experienced driver who made us feel so safe. Kudos to these guys!

We had a wonderful trip. Our tour guide and our driver were excellent. We had so much fun with our group and made new friends.

The tour required that you get-up at ungodly hours; perhaps this particular tour should be at least a day longer.

Was a great tour, but be prepared for a fairly busy pace. You have independent time so research what you would like to do to make the most of it. Don't be afraid to use public transportation if you want to explore on your own, it was very easy. I recommend the optional dinner in Prague, the palace in Vienna, and definitely the Danube cruise in Budapest.

The tour was excellent. The information provided about the places visited was ovevwhelming. The knowledge of the tour director regarding the sites visited was commendable. The tour was well organized, interesting, safe but felt too short. The tour director provides many tips during the trip that are valuable. The only item that I felt can be improved is in providing explanatory maps of the places to be visited before going there so that the tourist can orient themselves at the new place easily. The tour director often gives directions to various places before reaching there, but remembering all those instructions becomes difficult. But, if a small instruction sheet with a map is given before reaching each place, it would be easier to comprehend the instructions easily.

The tour director was extremely personable and knowledgeable. The coach was comfortable. The excursions, including the optional excursions, were very good. Would definitely recommend this trip [Munich to Prague to Vienna to Budapest to Salzburg to Munich]. Exceeded expectations.

The only problem with this trip is the tour guide. All of us are having doubts about the service from this tour guide. It didn't strike us that she's doing her job right. During the excursion, they have never ensured that everyone is there and numerous time people were missing and lost. Tour guide didn't care, we all had to watch out for each other instead of relying on tour guide. She even went back to main office to work while we're on tour ???? I though we have paid her to be our tour guide!!! The worst arrangement from this tour guide ever experienced.

The entire trip was immaculate !! Highly recommend !

I enjoyed the tour because it was very well planned and we have time for everything.. Good Job.

Wish more of the optional excursions were included. They were quite expensive as well.

I've been booking all my Globus and Cosmos tours with Affordable Tours - I wouldn't go anywhere else! I am a frequent traveler and I enjoy traveling with Globus and Cosmos because I think it's a very good value for the money.

Tour guide and bus driver were outstanding. Food was good and excursions were excellent. Great tour.

Cosmos was a fast moving tour--tour director could have tried to be more courteous, hotels were far from town requiring metros and trams to get around. Local tour guides were better. Watch out for Prague--this hotel was not a good selection--had 2 things stolen from room.

On this tour your will spend too much time in the bus and there is not enough time to see the cities on the tour. Hotel are away from city center and some hotels are not in a very good neighborhood. The hotel in Vienna was old, the room outdated and not a good service. The hotel in Budapest (Mercure) was also outdated and the ac was not working properly and the hotel staff ignore our request to fix the problem. Hotel in Prague was a good hotel, Hotel in Munich Ibis good hotel. Thanks

Excellent trip overall. This was my second booking with affordable tours. Looking forward to my next trip.

This is an outstanding tour at a very good price. Our tour guide was exceptional. This was my first tour with Cosmos, but it will not be my last.

The Cosmos tour far exceeded my expectations, it was far better than I anticipated. We had a Fabulous tour director who was bright and intelligent and funny and just made the experience completely memorable. We were lucky to have good weather, the places we saw left me wanting to spent more time at each of them, the optional excursions were well worth the extra money. And in the whole process, I came away with 5 new and quite close friends! Can\'t ask for more than that. Thank You!!

This was our fifth trip from affordable tours and also we have traveled with Cosmos in the past. We were very pleased with the trip's organization, the tour guide and overall experience. It was great.
